Asters Successfully Defends PrivatBank in USD 250+ Million Recovery Case

29 Apr 2025

Asters has successfully defended PrivatBank in a lawsuit brought by six foreign companies seeking to recover over USD 250 million from the state-owned bank.

The claimants attempted to recover funds deposited in their accounts at the bank’s Cyprus branch through challenging decisions, orders, and agreements made during the PrivatBank resolution with the participation of the State.

On 3 April 2025, the Supreme Court issued its final decision, allowing the cassation appeals filed by PrivatBank and the National Bank of Ukraine. The Supreme Court's resolution is final and cannot be appealed.

Asters' team working on the case included Managing Partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy, Partner Andriy Pozhidayev and Senior Associate Vira Baulina.
