Legalink celebrates Bill Davidson

Legalink proudly celebrates the extraordinary career and personal milestones of William Stanley Walker Davidson, better known as Bill Davidson, a long-standing and dear member of our global network. Bill’s recently published autobiography, In My Life, offers a captivating journey through his life as a legal luminary, spanning decades, countries, and countless memorable cases.

Bill, affectionately known as “Mr. D” among his colleagues, first arrived in Malaysia in 1964. A distinguished Irish lawyer, he served as a senior partner at Lewis & Co before its merger with Azman & Co in 1981, forming Azman Davidson & Co, where he continues to lend his wisdom as a consultant. His legal career has seen him make his mark not only in Malaysia but also in London, Hong Kong, and Brunei, earning him a reputation as a true global legal professional.

In My Life provides a rich narrative of Bill’s remarkable career, including his early days as a pupil and junior counsel, his involvement in landmark cases, and his deep contributions to legal practice at Azman Davidson & Co. Readers are treated to fascinating insights into legal history, including the system for appointing Queen’s Counsel, alongside vivid depictions of the socio-cultural contexts that defined various stages of his career, from the English-Irish tensions to the challenges of the Hong Kong drug trade.
